Staff Member Profile: Mark Biros

Position: Staff Writer
High School: Jeffersonville, 1996
College: University of Louisville

Mark begins his third season covering cross country and track & field. He lurked in the shadows of the Indiana Runner forum days then created the screen name The Profit which is what he appears to be best known for with his association with high school cross country. Mark has ranked both boys’ and girls’ southern semistate for the site and has contributed his Non Profit Poll and All-Time Individual and All-Time Team Polls as well.

In high school, Mark lettered eight times in cross country and track & field at Jeffersonville and was captain of both teams in his senior year. Mark participated in the 1994 and 1995 state cross country finals helping his team to ninth and 15th place finishes and received All-State recognition in 1995. He was also a state finalist in the 3200m run his senior year. He went on to the University of Louisville and was team MVP his senior year there.

Currently, Mark is competing in various road races, getting back into shape after a few months off from running. He is a big fan of high school cross country and has only missed a few state meets since 1989. Mark has never coached but enjoys helping out and giving input here or there. In the fall, you can find him traveling the state, pushing his girlfriend along and forcing her to make predictions so he can argue with her about them.
